What is a paediatric speech pathologist?
We’re allied health professionals, which is different from medical professionals like nurses or doctors. Allied health professionals are university trained and qualified therapists which consist of speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, audiologists, and podiatrists (just to name a few!). We use evidence-based treatment strategies to work with you to target your child’s specific therapy goals, ultimately expecting overall developmental growth and independence for your child’s wellbeing and access in their community.
While each profession has their own skillset, paediatric speech pathologists work with children who may require support with their communication, or who experience feeding or swallowing difficulties. Speech pathologists may specialise in specific areas or with certain populations.
