About our pricing

Quick answers

A few common questions we hear from families.

Can you work with plan managers?

Yes. We work with plan managers and communicate directly with them to support invoicing and funding management across your child’s plan. If you are self-managed, you are responsible for managing invoices and payments directly.

Do you only charge NDIS rates?

Our fees are set in line with the current NDIS pricing arrangements and apply to all clients, including those who are privately paying. This approach ensures fairness, consistency, and an ethical standard of care for everyone accessing services at Little Minds Grow.

Does pricing change?

Our fees are reviewed periodically and may change over time in line with industry standards or funding updates. If any changes apply, we’ll communicate this with you clearly and in advance.

Fees and funding options

Funding options we support

Families access speech pathology services in different ways. Below is an overview of the funding pathways we commonly work with. Explore the option that applies to your child, or read through all sections for a broader understanding.

Funding option

NDIS Speech Pathology Fees

Support funded through the National Disability Insurance Scheme for eligible children and families.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) supports individuals with developmental delay or disability by funding reasonable and necessary supports, including speech pathology services.

NDIS Self-Managed

You manage the funding directly and pay providers yourself, giving you flexibility to choose the supports that best meet your child’s goals.

NDIS Plan-Managed

A plan manager helps manage invoices and payments on your behalf, offering flexibility and support.

NDIS NDIA-Managed

Funding is managed by the NDIS, with services paid directly to registered providers. Please note: We are unable to provide services to NDIA-managed (agency-managed) participants at this time as we are not a registered provider.

Good to know: We work within current NDIS pricing arrangements and can support communication with plan managers where needed.

If you’re unsure how your child’s plan is managed, we’re happy to help you work it out.

Funding option

Medicare Rebates

Medicare rebates may be available for eligible children under specific programs.

In Australia, Medicare rebates for speech pathology may be accessed through certain referral pathways. Eligibility, rebate amounts, and the number of sessions available depend on the program and your child’s circumstances.

Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan

Your GP can create a CDM plan for 5 discounted sessions a year, and either refer your child to an allied health service or include a provider you’ve chosen, such as Little Minds Grow. CDM plans were previously known as Enhanced Primary Care Plans.

Follow up Allied Health Services for People of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent

Similar to the CDM plan above, a person who is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent can be referred by their GP for allied health services, such as speech pathology. The individual can access 5 allied health sessions per calendar year under the Medicare follow-up program. At times, up to 10 allied health sessions can be available per calendar year under Medicare.

Good to know: Medicare rebates usually cover part of the session fee only. Your GP (or relevant specialist) can confirm eligibility and referral requirements.

If you’re unsure whether Medicare rebates apply, we’re happy to help you understand your options.

Funding option

Private Health Insurance

Some private health funds offer rebates for speech pathology, depending on your level of cover.

If you have private health insurance with extras cover, you may be able to claim a rebate for speech pathology or other allied health sessions. Rebates and payment options vary between health funds, so we recommend checking with your insurer. We’re happy to help guide you through the process where possible.

Paying and claiming

Families usually pay for sessions at the time of their appointment and then submit the invoice to their private health insurer to claim any eligible rebate. Claims are typically processed through the health fund’s app, online portal, or by phone, depending on the insurer.

What to check with your fund

We recommend confirming your rebate amount per session, any item or provider codes required on invoices, annual claiming limits, and whether waiting periods apply.

Good to know: Private health rebates are set by your insurer (not by the practice) and may change over time.

If you’re unsure what your policy covers, your insurer can usually confirm this quickly.

Funding option

Privately Paying

Private payment options are available for families not eligible for rebates or schemes.

When accessing speech pathology services privately, fees are paid out of pocket by families. We understand that every family’s situation is different and are always open to working with you to find therapy options that best support your child while considering your financial capacity.

Flexible support

We recognise that private therapy can be a costly but necessary investment. Together, we discuss your goals and expectations and problem-solve ways to support your child’s needs. This may include options such as adjusted session length or frequency, targeted parent education to support therapy at home, or access to allied health assistants at a lower rate under the supervision of our speech pathologists.

Transparent communication

All services are guided by a Service Agreement that supports and protects both families and Little Minds Grow. Before starting therapy, we ensure you understand all costs, expectations, and service details so you can make informed decisions with confidence.

Good to know: You’re not locked into a set number of sessions. We’ll regularly review progress and adjust the therapy plan.

If you’d like to start privately while exploring other funding options, we can talk through a plan together.
